Pharmacy Technician Backend-PT
About The Position
The Back-End Pharmacy Technician works in Omnicare’s closed-door pharmacy setting to help ensure medication needs and regulatory standards are met for patients in skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and chronic care settings. The role involves rotating among pharmacy workstations and supporting order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medications, checking delivery orders and bins for accuracy, and coordinating stock rotations. Omnicare pharmacies are not open to the public. This role supports Omnicare as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health; the hired employee will be employed by Omnicare, not CVS Health. The position is part-time, with 25 anticipated weekly hours.
Requirements
- Be a certified, licensed, or registered pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
- Have at least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
- Have a verifiable high school diploma or GED.
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
- Prior experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- PTCB National Certification.
- Five or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent experience.
Responsibilities
- Rotate and work in assigned pharmacy workstations, including Packaging, Staging, Returns, Receiving, Narcotics, IV, Ekit, Compounding, Omnicell Cycle Fill, and Machine Packaging.
- Receive product deliveries; pull and stage product for distribution; rotate stock; and coordinate activities with drivers to ensure shipments are accurate and deliveries are timely.
- Perform physical inventories of medication.
- Support order fulfillment, including packaging and dispensing medication and reviewing delivery orders and bins for accuracy.
