About The Position

Pharmacy Technicians assist Pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and adhering to pharmacy regulations. The Pharmacy Technician follows established policies and procedures and receives, reviews, sorts, and processes drug and supply orders. Duties include preparing IV admixtures and chemotherapy, filling unit-dose medications, and working with Pyxis, barcoding, and medication reconciliation. The role requires good knowledge of computer systems, IV admixing, barcoding, inventory management, and Pyxis. The technician may interview patients to complete Medication Reconciliation and perform other duties as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• CPhT certification or Pharm Intern license.
• Completion of a technician training program or equivalent pharmacy technician hospital work experience.
• Current Pharmacy Technician registration with the California State Board of Pharmacy.
• Minimum of 3 months of hospital pharmacy experience.
• Good computer skills and ability to maintain databases.
• Good communication skills.
• Must be able to work all shifts, including night shift.
