About The Position
Under the general supervision of a licensed pharmacist and in accordance with standard department procedures, the Pharmacy Technician prepares and distributes patient medications. The position is based in Rutland at Community Health, a primary care network with wellness, dental, behavioral health, pediatric, and walk-in Express Care services. Community Health describes its work environment as team-oriented and collaborative.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to interpret and perform basic mathematical computations.
- Complete technician certification or equivalent within 18 months of employment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous pharmacy technician experience and/or prior healthcare experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret physician orders and transcribe them into the pharmacy system.
- Adjudicate third-party claims.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to questions and requests.
- Operate the point-of-sale system, maintain an accurate cash drawer, and complete deposits.
- Order and receive medications to maintain appropriate inventory.
- Deliver medications to patients.
- Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications.
