About The Position

Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties legally reserved for registered pharmacists. Technicians interact with patients, families, and other health care providers as appropriate, following standard written procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Pharmacy Technician license from the California Board of Pharmacy.
• CPhT Pharmacy Technician certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).

Nice To Haves

• College-level coursework.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program.
• Coursework in mathematics.
• Coursework in typing.
• Coursework in general science.
• Two years of experience as an inpatient pharmacy technician.
