About The Position

Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Technicians interact with patients, family members, and other health care providers as appropriate, following standard written procedures and guidelines.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Pharmacy Technician certification from the California Board of Pharmacy required.
• CPhT Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required.

Nice To Haves

• College-level coursework preferred.
• Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program preferred.
• Coursework in mathematics preferred.
• Coursework in typing preferred.
• Coursework in general science preferred.
• Two years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience preferred.
