About The Position
Pharmacy Technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining the drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties legally restricted to registered pharmacists. Technicians interact with patients, families, and other health care providers as appropriate, following standard written procedures and guidelines.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- California Board of Pharmacy Pharmacy Technician license required.
- PTCB Pharmacy Technician Certification Board certification required.
Nice To Haves
- College-level coursework.
- Completion of a Pharmacy Technician program.
- Coursework in mathematics, typing, and general science.
- Two years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience.
