As a full time, nonexempt Pharmacy Technician, you will assist in various pharmacy activities under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Your responsibilities will include preparing, delivering, and restocking medications; performing order entry; procuring drugs; billing. You will carry out your job duties according to written procedures and guidelines based on pharmacy standards and regulatory requirements. Location: Memorial Hospital of Gardena in Gardena, CA Pharmacy Hours: The centralized pharmacy is open 24/7 and supported by Paragon and Pyxis Schedule: This full-time, nonexempt position will work up to 40 hours/week in a variety of day/evening/night shifts in this 24/7 centralized pharmacy. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Current California Pharmacy Technician license in good standing
- Recent work experience as a Pharmacy Technician in an acute care hospital setting
- Proficiency with pharmacy software

Responsibilities
- Prepare and dispense medications by measuring, counting, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Process prescription orders accurately, including entering patient and prescription data into pharmacy systems
- Assist pharmacists and healthcare providers by gathering necessary information and supporting workflow efficiency
- Prepare and compound medications (including IV admixtures and sterile products) following hospital protocols and USP standards
- Process medication orders from electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) with accuracy and urgency
- Deliver medications to patient care areas, including automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs) and nursing units
- Maintain medication inventory by restocking, tracking controlled substances, and monitoring expiration dates
- Support medication safety initiatives, including double-checks, labeling, and documentation
- Collaborate with pharmacists, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure timely and safe medication delivery
- Comply with hospital policies and regulatory standards, including Joint Commission and local, state, and federal regulations
