About The Position

Omnicare, a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities, supports skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. This Front End Pharmacy Technician role supports order entry and the medication dispensing process at a closed-door pharmacy. The front-end team enters prescription orders, works with pharmacists to ensure accuracy, and provides customer service. The role will be employed by Omnicare, which is continuing as an independent, standalone organization following its sale by CVS Health.

Requirements

• Certification, licensure, or registration as a pharmacy technician, as required by state law.
• At least one year of experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in the long-term care industry.
• PTCB National Certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform order entry tasks and collaborate with team members in the medication dispensing process.
• Triage customer service requests by department, urgency, and the information or response required.
• Calculate and/or verify correct dosages based on prescriptions.
• Assist in reviewing that narcotic prescriptions are returned in a timely manner.
• Provide dispensing pharmacists with information regarding allergies, drug interactions, therapeutic duplications, and other items flagged by the computer.
• Create and maintain accurate customer records.
