Elayn Hunt Correctional Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our Health Services team. This position plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of safe and effective medication services for individuals in our care.

Requirements

• No experience or training required.
• Upon accepting employment, persons must be eligible for a Pharmacy Technician Candidate Registration from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.
• Before gaining permanent status with the agency, persons appointed to this position are subject to Chapter 9 of the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy regulations and are required to obtain a Pharmacy Technician Certificate from the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy.

Responsibilities

• Assisting in the preparation, packaging, and distribution of medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
• Maintaining accurate medication inventories and records
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and institutional policies
• Supporting daily pharmacy operations, including organizing supplies and processing medication orders
• Collaborating with healthcare staff to promote efficient and secure medication management
