The Pharmacy Technician assists a Registered Pharmacist in the non-professional aspects of preparing and dispensing medication. This role involves filling, packaging, labeling, and stocking unit dose carts, making deliveries, and filling bottles with measured amounts of medication. The technician will also assist in the clean air room with sterile techniques for injectable prescriptions and IV additives, and fill medication orders in inpatient areas. Additionally, the role supports the pharmacist in maintaining various records and reports, including IV records, medication records, and statistics for medication orders. Responsibilities extend to entering orders into the computer for refills, maintaining inventory at workstations, and transporting pharmacy materials. The position also involves receiving and maintaining records for stock and inventory control, and ensuring sufficient daily inventory of supplies in all pharmacy areas for efficient operation.
