About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician practices pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role requires a friendly approach and remarkable customer service to support patients’ overall health. The technician interacts with patients, supports pharmacy initiatives and clinical services, and assists with prescription processing, medication inventory, and pharmacy operations. This position is part-time and works 12 hours per week within approved availability.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Registered and/or licensed as required in the state of practice.
Retail or community practice experience.
Excellent customer service skills.
Positive attitude.
Proficient typing skills.
Neat and eligible penmanship.
Organizational and prioritization skills.
Teamwork.
Reliable attendance.
Basic math skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to be an agent of change.
Complete Meijer employer-based training if licensure is not required in the state of practice.

Responsibilities

Interact with patients at various service points of contact.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
Enter customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Retrieve the appropriate medication from inventory.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Maintain a clean and orderly pharmacy with a professional appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of patient information.
Work 12 hours a week within approved availability.
