About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician supports the pharmacist in providing safe, accurate, and timely medication services to customers in a grocery store pharmacy. The role includes processing prescriptions, assisting with inventory management, and providing customer service in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), preferred or required by state regulations.
• State pharmacy technician license or registration, if applicable.
• Basic computer and data-entry skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), preferred or required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacists in filling and labeling prescriptions accurately.
• Enter and process prescription and insurance information in the computer system.
• Communicate with insurance companies regarding billing and prior authorizations.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient records and prescription information.
• Receive and store incoming pharmaceutical supplies and maintain inventory levels.
• Help manage pharmacy workflow and ensure timely customer service.
• Answer phone calls and address basic customer inquiries or direct customers to the pharmacist.
• Assist with processing refills and contact prescribers for refill authorizations.
• Handle pharmacy-register transactions, including cash, credit, and insurance copays.
• Follow state and federal laws, including HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety and sanitation guidelines.
