About The Position

This role is for a Pharmacy Technician on the Strategic Response Team (SRT) at AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF). The SRT Pharmacy Technician contributes to AHF by demonstrating the competencies of a Level II technician, as described in the AHF Pharmacy Policy, Procedure and Training manual. This role enhances the reputation of AHF by remaining sensitive to the "stigma" of People Living With HIV/AIDS (PLWH) and associated comorbidities, understanding the challenges of treating chronic diseases, barriers to care, and the importance of patient anonymity and privacy. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate for AHF's key initiatives and will keep the AHF Core Values and Mission top of mind. AHF operates in a dynamic and collaborative environment where staff are accountable to multiple leaders. The Pharmacy Technician – SRT will work as part of a close-knit team to establish and maintain good working relationships with healthcare providers, staff, and referral sources to facilitate the exchange of patient demographics and medication treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Valid State of California, Pharmacy Technician license without restrictions.
  • National certification PTCB preferred. If not obtained, must obtain within 12 months of employment (Company Paid).
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Willingness to obtain required licensure in two other states within one year of employment.
  • 1-2 years of work experience in a hospital, retail, or specialty pharmacy is required.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid or ADAP Programs.
  • Previous experience handling patient billing and/or insurance claims.
  • Familiarity with Pharmacy Systems.
  • Data input skills, including typing skills and Windows PC application proficiency, are required.
