About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician II assists pharmacists with technical duties related to filling medication orders and preparing IV admixtures, as well as technical and administrative pharmacy functions. The role supports pharmacy operations across onsite and offsite units, including medication restocking, delivery, recordkeeping, and order-entry accuracy checks. This is a PRN, as-needed position. Shifts may start as early as 5 a.m. and end as late as 2 p.m. Travel is never or rarely required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- One year of sterile products experience.
- State Pharmacy Technician (PHT) license from the State Licensing Board.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification.
Nice To Haves
- One year of sterile compounding experience.
- One year of pharmaceutical or pharmacology experience.
Responsibilities
- Restock and check Pyxis machines and nursing units, including onsite and offsite units.
- Verify the integrity of medications in Pyxis machines and floor-stock areas.
- Deliver filled medication orders and pick up new orders to be filled.
- Package medications that are not prepackaged and maintain related records.
- Assist as a second check for the accuracy of the order-entry process.
- Prepare and deliver intravenous piggyback admixtures.
