About The Position

The Pharmacy Technician I role is a PRN position in the Retail Pharmacy Department at Texas Health Dallas. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with patients, participate in the 'meds to bed' program, and potentially cross-train in the main hospital pharmacy. The department is described as having a professional, laid-back, small, and supportive team environment, with opportunities to work on the upper end of one's license.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
RPhT - Registered Pharmacy Technician Upon Hire required
Proficiency in written and verbal English language
Proficiency with computers
Ability to adapt to various software systems
Basic math including conversions, proportions, ratios, and algebra
Ability to work alone and as part of a team

Nice To Haves

1 year pharmacy retail experience is strongly preferred
Other IV Certification Upon Hire preferred

Responsibilities

Timely and accurate preparation, delivery to the nursing units/appropriate departments & storage of medications, including (when appropriate) the use of technology to do so, varies by location.
Ensuring accuracy of one's own work as well as the maintenance of required competencies, and other documentation. Must reflect consistently departmental quality improvement and Patient Safety standards, programs, and initiatives.
Ongoing professional development and growth, leads by example, perpetuates accountability, manages own time.
Communicate effectively, develop positive working relationships and role model teamwork that reflects the Texas Health Promise Behaviors.
Trains new employees on routine tasks, under the direction of designated personnel.
