About The Position

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Pharmacy Technician I to support inpatient pharmacy operations and help ensure safe, accurate, and timely medication delivery for pediatric patients. The technician works under the supervision of a pharmacist and assists with medication preparation and distribution, inventory management, and pharmacy technology support.

This is a weekend-only position, working every other Saturday and Sunday. Shifts are either 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM or 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM. Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration is required before starting.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or HSED.
• Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required prior to starting.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a pharmacy technician training program.
• At least one year of pharmacy or healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, package, label, and deliver medications.
• Compound sterile products using aseptic technique and USP 797 standards.
• Process patient admissions, discharges, and transfers.
• Manage medication inventory, including stocking, ordering, and monitoring expiration dates.
• Handle controlled substances and assist with resolving discrepancies.
• Support automated dispensing cabinets and other pharmacy technologies.
• Answer calls and assist patients, families, nurses, and healthcare providers.
• Maintain accuracy and efficiency in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
