About The Position

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join the Inpatient Pharmacy team at UHS Wilson Medical Center. The technician works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to support medication preparation and dispensing, maintain inventory, and provide customer service. The position is suited to someone beginning a pharmacy career and seeking hands-on experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting. The role is in Pharmacy Services, has a rotational shift, and is scheduled for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification from the Pharmacy Technician Board (PTCB) within eighteen months of employment.

• Previous experience as a pharmacy technician.
• Successful completion of a pharmacy technician training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide generalist support to help maintain an ongoing and efficient pharmacy department by assisting with medication or prescription processing for patients and appropriate patient care areas.
• Help maintain a neat and clean dispensing area and perform tasks required in the pharmacy department’s daily routine.
• Assist the pharmacist in preparing and dispensing prescription medications.
• Accurately enter patient and prescription information into the pharmacy system.
• Label and package medications under pharmacist supervision.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and pharmacy regulations.
• Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment.
