About The Position

CentraState Medical Center is currently hiring a Pharmacy Technician. This role supports the delivery of quality pharmaceutical services to patients, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, in alignment with established professional standards. The Pharmacy Technician also assists the Pharmacy Manager with daily operational tasks to ensure seamless departmental performance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Pharmacy Technician License in the state of New Jersey required.
  • CPCT Certification required or must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • Strong professional, organizational and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team and patients.
  • Proficiency in Word® and Excel®.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one year of pharmacy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares patient specific medications to be ready for dispensing in a timely and accurate manner within established department standards.
  • Prepares and delivers medications for the automated dispensing cabinets and for the floor stock process.
  • Consistently demonstrates good aseptic technique and prepares sterile preparations in a timely and accurate manner within the USP 797 and USP 800 requirements. This includes the preparation of custom doses, Immune Modulators and Chemotherapy / Antineoplastics.
  • Answers phones and delivers medications in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Prepares the controlled substance for ADC replenishment.
  • Assists with the appropriate ordering and the rotation of medications to minimize carrying costs and unnecessary waste.
  • Repackages and batches medication in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conducts Cycle Counts and checks expiration dates via Logistics and the Carousel System.
  • Actively participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives in the department.
  • Assists the Pharmacists, Lead Technician and Manager with operational needs and projects.
  • Complies with regulatory and professional standards.
  • Provides recommendations on improvement in this area.
