About The Position
The pharmacy technician assists the pharmacists in performing routine duties in the pharmacy; patient and department order processing, inventory control, drug purchasing, and sterile/non-sterile compounding compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and USP guidelines. This includes following up on drug shortages, backorders, recalls; and other bookkeeping and/or clerical duties.
Requirements
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Computer experience using e-mail, Excel, and Word.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Courteous, friendly, diplomatic, and tactful.
- Ability to maintain information in a confidential manner.
- Ability to use basic office equipment.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person as well as over the phone.
- Ability to multi-task and remain organized.
Nice To Haves
- Hospital, sterile and non-sterile compounding, or other institutional experience.
- Experience in a community pharmacy setting.
- Experience in other medical environments.
