Pharmacy Technician Certified I - Pharmacy - Full Time
About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician works in Elliot Hospital’s Inpatient Pharmacy, collaborating with pharmacists to process and prepare medications for hospital patients. The role supports pharmacists and serves as a liaison between Nursing staff and Pharmacy. The department uses a decentralized medication-distribution model with Omnicell automation and pharmacists assigned to nursing-unit teams. Elliot also describes career advancement opportunities through its ASHP-accredited PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program, technician career ladder, and reimbursement for professional certifications. This is a 40-hour-per-week, full-time position primarily on the day shift, listed as 7:00 AM–3:30 PM. Varied shifts may be needed, and the technician must be available to occasionally work a second shift. The schedule includes every-third-weekend rotation and one major and one minor holiday per year. The position is at the main campus, 1 Elliot Way, Manchester, New Hampshire.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Registration with the New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy.
- National and New Hampshire Board of Pharmacy certification.
Nice To Haves

Responsibilities
- Process and prepare patient-specific medications according to provider orders for pharmacist review.
- Distribute prepared medications to health system locations.
- Maintain medication inventory in automated dispensing cabinets.
- Triage telephone calls to appropriate pharmacy personnel.
- Perform monthly floor inspections in assigned areas.
- Triage nursing staff electronic communications to pharmacists.
- Provide operational support to pharmacists during assigned shifts.
