About The Position

The Pharmacy Automation Technician at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, Ca will assist supporting Pyxis, Swisslog, Carousel, Euclid and other pharmacy automated systems to facilitate the medication management system. The technician will perform routine diagnostic checks on automated systems, monitor automated systems, isolate problems and perform repairs as needed independently. The Automation technician will be responsible for maintaining competency in the pharmacy automated systems and providing education for pharmacy personal. Furthermore he/she will be the primary pharmacy liaison for EIS and automation vendors for integration of new technology solutions seamlessly with existing pharmacy systems. The technician will routinely review automation reports to optimize the use of systems and maintain efficiency.

Requirements

  • Registered as Pharmacy Technician with the California State Board of Pharmacy
  • Minimum 2 years experience in pharmacy practice or comparable level of education and experience with pharmacy technology
  • Minimum 2 years experience working with a personal computer.
  • Minimum computer competency working knowledge of Windows or comparable system (specifically keyboard and mouse). Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, presentation development, email, browsers and on-line reporting.
  • Proficiency with database and spreadsheet programs such as Excel and Access
  • Able to independently problem-solve
  • Full command of the English language
  • Functions well as a team player, integrating with diverse skill sets and personalities; earns respect of end-users and peers.
  • Executes all job responsibilities and assignments promptly, reliably, honestly, and ethically.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks frequently with short time-lines, prioritize and organize work, and complete work timely and accurately.
  • Interacts effectively with Directors, Managers, patients, internal staff and representatives of outside agencies and vendors.
