Pharmacy Technician Apprentice - Inpatient

Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will function as a trainee and gain knowledge in packaging, preparing and distributing medications, inventory control, customer service and maintaining pharmacy records. After 12 months, you will have successfully completed and received a diploma in Pharmacy Technology from the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program. A caregiver in this position works Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 3:30pm. No weekend or holiday requirements. This position pay a flat rate of $17/hour.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Successful completion of the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology program within 12 months of hire
- Upon hire, registration as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy.
- Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy is required within 12 months
- Must obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) within 12 months
Responsibilities
- Prepare medications (selection, labeling, repackaging, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding).
- Deliver medications to appropriate storage locations.
- Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training in an accurate and timely manner.
- Attend and actively participate in team huddles and meetings.
- Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks.
- Maintain good standing in the Cleveland Clinic School of Pharmacy Technology Program per the student handbook.
