About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech provides efficient and courteous service to pharmacy customers. The role supports prescription processing, customer inquiries, inventory and supplies, insurance claims, and day-to-day pharmacy operations. The pharmacy technician handles customer questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment and assists customers with finding over-the-counter products. Additional job duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide and promote efficient and courteous customer service.
• Answer telephone calls and handle questions that do not require a pharmacist’s expertise or judgment.
• Receive written prescriptions and telephone refill requests.
• Gather and record information needed to prepare and dispense prescriptions.
• Store written prescription forms after prescriptions are dispensed.
• Enter data into the computer.
• Stock over-the-counter products and assist customers in finding them.
• Place completed prescriptions in the pick-up area.
• Assist in preparing insurance claims and verify payments.
• Maintain a clean department and work area.
• Assist in maintaining and stocking pharmacy department supplies.
• Operate the cash register.
• Perform additional job duties as assigned.
