About The Position
Saint Luke’s East Hospital is hiring a part-time evening Inpatient Pharmacy Technician. The role offers varied weekly duties, including filling automated dispensing cabinets and delivering medications to hospital units. It also provides opportunities to perform IV sterile compounding, unit dose packaging, first-dose filling, and medical storage support. This is a customer-facing position that supports hospital staff and processes requests. The schedule is 16 hours per week, with evening shifts during the week and every other weekend. A Certified Pharmacy Technician credential is required within 18 months of hire.
Requirements
- Missouri Pharmacy Technician registration through the Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
- Obtain Certified Pharmacy Technician status within 18 months of hire.
- Applicable experience: less than 1 year.
Responsibilities
- Pick, fill, and deliver medication orders and Omnicell stock to appropriate locations.
- Fill first doses for new patient orders.
- Prepack drugs and compound medications, including sterile products, chemotherapy, and special dosage forms such as topicals and oral liquids.
- Assist with maintaining stock supplies in the pharmacy department as needed.
- Answer the phone and front window, and assist with questions and requests.
- Attend all department and technician meetings.
- Complete projects as needed to improve service and/or safety.
