Requirements

  • Supervision of a licensed pharmacist is required for medication order preparation, packaging, delivery, and charging.
  • Proficiency in filling and labeling medications.
  • Experience in stocking medications into pharmacy inventory.
  • Ability to restock automated dispensing cabinets (ADCs).
  • Knowledge of maintaining adequate medication stock levels and proper storage of medications.
  • Skill in delivering medications to patient care areas.
  • Capability to handle medication requests and phone calls.
  • Experience in preparing IV sterile admixture solutions and IV products.
  • Experience in advanced compounding of chemotherapy and TPNs.
  • Familiarity with Pharmacy quality assurance activities.
  • Ability to train and educate pharmacy technicians on department and hospital policies and procedures, quality assurance, and performance improvement processes.
  • Understanding of and ability to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements, Joint Commission standards and Tenet and hospital policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to assist pharmacists and Supervisors in performing various duties as assigned.
  • Ability to serve as a resource for pharmacy drug distribution functions.

Responsibilities
