About The Position

The Pharmacy Tech II performs primarily sterile compounding and associated activities under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. This full-time hospital pharmacy role is at Woman’s Hospital, a specialty hospital focused on the care of women and infants. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with various shifts between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM, and every third weekend. The position is hourly and non-exempt, with a pay range of $17.00–$24.00 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Pharmacy technician certification.
Successful completion of media fill, didactic, and written testing on compounding sterile preparations.
One year of pharmacy technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Clean and sanitize laminar flow bench surfaces, counters, and work surfaces; perform and document assigned monthly cleaning.
Set up the automated compounder and perform calibration checks as required by policy and procedure.
Compound low- and medium-risk sterile preparations according to hospital policy and procedure.
Prepare dilutions for neonatal compounded sterile preparations and label them with the concentration and beyond-use dating.
Label compounded sterile preparations with the correct storage information and beyond-use dating.
File completed PCA sheets, Pyxis reports, invoices, and other department records so they can be readily retrieved.
Enter patient account charges and credits from Pyxis reports, crash carts, and other records.
Prepare oral syringes according to policies and procedures in a timely manner.
Assist with dispensing inpatient medications by filling unit-dose and floor-stock orders for pharmacist verification.
Perform non-sterile compounding according to policy and procedure, and document appropriate information.
Perform other duties as assigned by Woman’s Hospital.
