About The Position
The Pharmacy Tech II works in the Inpatient Pharmacy at Freeman Hospital West, a fast-paced department that partners with practitioners and nursing staff to provide quality patient care. The pharmacy team supports care by ensuring medications are available, delivering them to patient care areas, and maintaining inventory in medication dispensing machines throughout the system. The role responds to the needs of the department, nursing and physician staff, and patients. It helps ensure medication delivery and availability, profiles patient orders, performs pharmacy module functions, monitors pharmacy equipment and carries out routine maintenance, assists with inventory management, and performs clerical duties as needed. The position is full time on days.
Requirements
- Current national certification from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the Exam for Certification of Pharmacy Technicians (ExCPT).
- Registration with valid licensure as a Pharmacy Technician with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy, or a current Missouri Pharmacy Intern License.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Respond to the needs of the department, nursing and physician staff, and patients.
- Ensure medications are delivered to and available in patient care areas.
- Profile patient orders and perform necessary pharmacy module functions.
- Monitor pharmacy equipment functionality and perform routine maintenance.
- Assist with inventory management.
- Perform clerical duties as required.
