In this role, you will work with a team to obtain prior authorization for both hospitalized and outpatient medication treatment. Expectations include: providing documentation and clinical data required by the patient’s third-party payer; accurately and completely document all information into the electronic medical record (Epic); monitor pharmacy claim data; identify critical reimbursement issues; work with Finance and Billing to resolve issues in an expedient and initiative-taking manner. Participates in training and continued competency activities and performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent job experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in logical thinking, data preparation, and analysis
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Medical field experience
  • 2+ years of relative professional experience working in a hospital, clinic, physician office, payer business office, case management or social work departments
  • Proficient in at least (1) hospital electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Access)
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of government and commercial payer requirements to ensure accurate and compliant charging and billing of medications.
