About The Position

AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is seeking a Pharmacy Student to join their team on a PRN basis. This role involves performing technical procedures, compounding, dispensing, and delivering medications under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. As the student progresses in their PharmD program, there may be opportunities for patient counseling. The position focuses on delivering quality care to patients across all age groups and maintaining service levels.

Requirements

Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy degree program
High School Grad or Equiv Required
Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC) Required or Pharmacy Intern (PHARMINT) Required
Certified Pharmacy Tech (CPHT) Required Or Pharmacy Intern (PHARMINT) Required

Nice To Haves

As the student progresses through their PharmD program, they may have the potential to do patient counseling in addition to their technician responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of technical procedures utilizing radionuclides for diagnosing and treating diseases in humans.
Delivers quality care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric and ensures service levels are maintained.
Under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, performs all accountabilities associated with the compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to the patients.
Performs functions requested by pharmacists or pharmacy leadership in a timely manner.
Maintains a high level of accuracy and accountability in all controlled substance transactions.
Answers the phone promptly and courteously, using experience and prioritization skills to forward calls appropriately.
Restocks boxes, kits, trays, and code cart trays.
