About The Position

The Pharmacy Student works under the direct supervision of a pharmacist and performs technical responsibilities associated with compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivering medications to patients. The role supports patients from pediatric through geriatric age groups and helps maintain service levels and quality care. As the student progresses through a PharmD program, they may have the opportunity to provide patient counseling in addition to technician responsibilities.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Pharmacy degree program.
• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPT-LIC) or Pharmacy Intern (PHARMINT) required.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPHT) or Pharmacy Intern (PHARMINT) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform functions requested by pharmacists or pharmacy leadership in a timely manner.
• Maintain accuracy and accountability in controlled substance transactions.
• Answer calls promptly and courteously, using experience and prioritization skills to direct calls appropriately.
• Restock boxes, kits, trays, and code cart trays.
• Under a pharmacist’s direct supervision, assist with compounding, dispensing, charging, and delivery of medications to patients.
• Potentially provide patient counseling as PharmD program progress permits.
