About The Position

The Pharmacy Services Coordinator collaborates with the inter-professional team, payers, patients, and families to promote timely access to medications. The role provides pharmacy benefits investigation, coordinates financial assistance, and facilitates prior authorizations as required. The coordinator serves as a front-line subject matter expert on outpatient pharmacy services, prescription insurance benefits, and financial assistance, while providing exceptional customer service and feedback to leadership about program impact and areas for improvement.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
1–3 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the inter-professional team to enhance communication, coordinate care, and improve patient satisfaction.
Serve as a front-line subject matter expert on outpatient pharmacy services, prescription insurance benefits, and financial assistance.
Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure timely access to medications.
Partner with patients to determine appropriate sources for their medication needs and refer them to relevant programs and resources.
Review prescriptions with outpatient pharmacies to confirm which medications need to be dispensed and provide the necessary dispensing timeline.
Resolve insurance-related issues and coordinate prior authorization requirements.
Identify financial assistance programs, such as manufacturers’ assistance, copay assistance, and vouchers, to reduce patients’ out-of-pocket expenses.
Provide exceptional customer service when interacting with patients, caregivers, and other health care professionals.
Provide routine feedback to site and organizational leadership regarding program impact and areas for improvement.
Perform related duties as required.
