About The Position

The Lead Pharmacy Services Coordinator leads and guides a team, serving as a liaison among patients, prescribers, pharmacies, and payers. The role collaborates with the interprofessional team to promote timely medication access and leads daily pharmacy-benefit investigations, financial-assistance processes, and prior-authorization facilitation as needed. It also provides subject-matter expertise, supports complex cases, trains and mentors team members, and helps guide daily operations and priorities.

Requirements

Associate's or technical degree, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
5–7 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with the interprofessional team to improve communication, coordinate care, and enhance patient satisfaction.
Serve as a subject-matter expert for the team on outpatient pharmacy services, prescription insurance benefits, and financial assistance.
Lead patient cases and train and mentor team members in technical skills.
Work with patients to identify appropriate sources for their medication needs and refer them to relevant programs and resources.
Review prescriptions with outpatient pharmacies, confirm which medications need to be dispensed, and communicate dispensing timelines.
Resolve insurance-related issues and coordinate prior-authorization requirements.
Provide exceptional customer service to patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.
Recommend program-impact measures and improvement opportunities to site and organizational leadership.
Research and resolve complex prior authorizations, including letters of medical necessity, and supervise team members handling complicated authorization or financial-assistance tasks.
Set daily priorities and guide team members on non-routine or escalated issues.
May functionally supervise team members, coordinate work-assignment schedules, and direct their daily priorities.
May provide input on team members’ performance reviews and corrective actions.
Perform related duties as required.
