Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED/ equivalent (required)

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician educational program and/or an Associate’s degree, or previous hospital-based pharmacy technician experience (preferred)
  • One (1) year of customer service experience (preferred)
  • Registered as a pharmacy technician with the Commonwealth of Kentucky (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provides daily supportive services for the Department of Pharmacy according to hospital policies and procedures and in compliance with Kentucky pharmacy laws and other regulatory agencies.
  • Actively supports and participates in the department’s continuous quality improvement initiatives and competency assessments.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and patient safety.
  • Responds to requests in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • The associate will have the ability to learn on the job, then take the National Pharmacy Tech Certification Exam (PTCE).
  • After successfully passing the exam, the employee may apply for any open Certified Technician (CPhT) positions available within UofL Health.
