Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED/ equivalent (required)
Nice To Haves
- Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician educational program and/or an Associate’s degree, or previous hospital-based pharmacy technician experience (preferred)
- One (1) year of customer service experience (preferred)
- Registered as a pharmacy technician with the Commonwealth of Kentucky (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Provides daily supportive services for the Department of Pharmacy according to hospital policies and procedures and in compliance with Kentucky pharmacy laws and other regulatory agencies.
- Actively supports and participates in the department’s continuous quality improvement initiatives and competency assessments.
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service and patient safety.
- Responds to requests in a prompt and efficient manner.
- The associate will have the ability to learn on the job, then take the National Pharmacy Tech Certification Exam (PTCE).
- After successfully passing the exam, the employee may apply for any open Certified Technician (CPhT) positions available within UofL Health.
