About The Position

Sunrise Community Health is seeking a Pharmacy Runner/Pharmacy Technician - Non-Certified to support pharmacy services by stocking, assembling, and distributing medications under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist. This is a per diem/as needed position. The role requires a Quality, Customer First, and Compassionate approach to assist healthcare providers and patients, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with pharmacy procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a Pharmacy Technician, or equivalent combination, education and experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred.
  • Must complete 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years either online or by attending workshops.
  • Current immunizations are required to work at Sunrise Community Health and may vary dependent upon the position. Influenza (Flu) Vaccines are required for ALL staff. COVID vaccine is highly encouraged. N95 Testing is required for Clinical positions and facial hair must not interfere with the seal or valve function of the respirator.

  • Associate degree in Pharmaceutical Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor for text messages for the grab and go, complete the transaction and run the prescription out to the patient’s car.
  • Assist health care providers and patients by greeting them in person and by phone, answering questions and requests, and referring inquiries to the pharmacist.
  • Use appropriate telephone skills and respond to calls that do not require the personal attention of a pharmacist.
  • Complete transactions upon pick-up with consideration of patient’s needs.
  • Advocate for patients when barriers to receiving medication are encountered.
  • Inform patients when delays are encountered with filling their prescription.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of programs offered by Sunrise Community Health.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory levels, anticipating needed medications and supplies, placing and expediting orders, verifying receipt of orders, putting orders away accurately, and removing outdated drugs.
  • Comply with all 340B Policies and Procedures when releasing medications.
  • Completes credit returns and manual return process for Colorado Medicaid DME.
  • Must complete 24 hours of continuing education every 2 years either online or by attending workshops.
  • Assist patients as they drop off prescriptions.
  • Processes prescriptions by entering patient data, insurance, and prescription information into a computer.
  • Organizes medications for pharmacist to dispense by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, assembling intravenous solutions and other pharmaceutical therapies.
  • Inputs prescription/refills and creates/updates patient profiles and third-party setups accurately.
  • Administer vaccine and appropriately document.
