This position is responsible for properly identifying patients and following procedures for the collection of specimens. The Phlebotomist performs Venipuncture and capillary puncture to obtain blood from patients of all age groups. They utilize a computer system to monitor workflow, generate specimen labels, and receive specimens. Responsibilities also include processing paperwork in the Laboratory Outpatient drawing room, Central Processing, and Laboratory Office, as well as entering/editing orders on outreach specimens. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for travel to area nursing homes, healthcare facilities, and/or home visits.
