About The Position

The Pharmacy Resident is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of Pharmacy Department Services. The Pharmacy Resident supervises, monitors and teaches pharmacy techs and students in proper policies and procedures. Also completes rotations, projects and activities as outlined in the Pharmacy Residency Program Manual and as directed by the Residency Program Director, Pharmacy Clinical Supervisor and Pharmacy Manager. Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy
  • MT Pharmacist license within one year of hire
  • American Heart Association BLS within one year of hire
  • American Heart Association ACLS within one year of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Participation in the ASHP National Matching Service
  • Pharmacy rotations completed within a health-system setting
  • Pharmacy internship within a health-system
  • Active member of state and /or national pharmacy societies

Responsibilities

  • Perform and verify all data entry as required by law (i.e., Meditech, Omni cell systems, etc.).
  • Supervise the data entry of the technicians.
  • Oversee IV preparation and compounds admixtures (including chemotherapy).
  • Oversee stocking, data and control of inventory.
  • Review physician orders and MARS prior to dispensing.
  • Maintain a high level of alertness to administration of medications.
  • Provide accurate drug information.
  • Fill medication orders and closely supervise technician restocks.
  • Verify technician activities concerning patient medications.
  • Contribute and participate in pharmacy continued education.
  • Ensure responsibilities and assignments are in accordance with the BDHS Pharmacy Residency Program manual.
