About The Position

The Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern supports Walmart’s community pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in patient care. The role helps improve customer health and wellness and contributes to the safe, efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services. The intern assists with prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases, supports patient needs, and helps maintain pharmacy inventory and the work area. The position requires protecting confidential information and following applicable Company policies and local, State, and Federal guidelines, including HIPAA and PHI requirements.

Requirements

Be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
Demonstrate proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices.
Have the ability to foster relationships with customers and the pharmacy team.
Be able to cater to individual patient needs.
Commit to following HIPAA and PHI guidelines.

Responsibilities

Maintain the confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records in accordance with Company policies and local, State, and Federal guidelines.
Help process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases.
Recognize patients, assess their needs, and help them navigate clinical therapies.
Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
Manage inventory and maintain the pharmacy area.
Participate in community activities, outreach, and events.
