About The Position

The Pharmacy Pre-Grad Intern supports Walmart’s community pharmacy team while gaining hands-on experience in patient care and pharmacy operations. The role helps improve customer health and wellness by advocating for patient wellbeing, providing customer service, and supporting the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy products and services. The intern assists with prescription and over-the-counter orders, patient needs, inventory, and pharmacy-area maintenance while following confidentiality requirements and applicable privacy guidelines.

Requirements

Be enrolled in an accredited pharmacy school.
Demonstrate proficiency in pharmaceutical care and implementing best practices.
Build effective relationships with customers and the pharmacy team.
Address individual patient needs.
Follow HIPAA and PHI guidelines.

Responsibilities

Protect the confidentiality of information, documentation, and assigned records in accordance with Company policies and local, state, and federal guidelines.
Help process prescription and over-the-counter orders and purchases.
Recognize patients, assess their needs, and help them navigate clinical therapies.
Receive and stock merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers.
Manage inventory and maintain the pharmacy area.
