About The Position

Under the general supervision of an Order Entry Supervisor, the Pharmacy Order Entry Technician helps ensure excellent customer service through fast, professional, and accurate communication, in accordance with local, state, federal, and company laws and regulations. The role reviews and enters resident and medication-order information into the pharmacy computer system, responds to calls and inquiries, and coordinates with facilities and internal teams. The position is identified as an overnight, 7-on/7-off schedule and is located at 799 Cromwell Park Dr., Suites K–M, Glen Burnie, MD 21061.

Requirements

• Must be a Registered or Certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of Maryland.
• Previous experience in pharmacy or another related field.
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Long-term care (LTC) pharmacy experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review and input information for new and readmitted residents, including all information needed to dispense medications safely and cost-effectively.
• Maintain resident and customer information in the pharmacy computer system, including entering new information and updating or correcting existing records.
• Use proper phone etiquette to provide services to facilities and residents.
• Triage patient calls to the appropriate party.
• Answer phones and respond to order inquiries.
• Enter new and refill orders into the pharmacy computer system for Staff Pharmacist review.
• Place outbound calls to facilities to clarify orders as needed.
• Triage incoming faxes promptly and accurately.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with billing operations specialists.
