About The Position

The Order Entry Pharmacy Technician ensures prescriptions are entered, filled, and prepared for delivery accurately and in a timely manner under the supervision of a Staff Pharmacist. The role supports pharmacy operations and patient service, including communication with nursing staff, physician’s offices, team members, and third-party payers. A flexible schedule is required.

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the state of Missouri.
• At least 2 years of pharmacy experience.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service attitude and professional demeanor, with strong communication skills.
• Positive attitude and self-motivation.
• Excellent computer skills, including pharmacy operations systems, and moderate-to-strong comprehension of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to problem-solve and prioritize workflow to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work quickly and efficiently and, at times, go above and beyond to support the team.
• Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
• Knowledge of HIPAA laws regarding the privacy, confidentiality, and security of patient information.
• Flexible schedule required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
• Pharmacy experience in long-term care, retail, mail order, and/or hospital settings preferred.
• FrameworkLTC experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately perform order entry, order fulfillment, and medication delivery preparation while assisting the Pharmacist.
• Communicate professionally with nursing staff, physician’s offices, and other team members to provide outstanding service.
• Communicate with third-party payers to resolve rejected claims and ensure correct processing.
• Receive daily inventory from the wholesaler and help identify soon-to-expire and outdated inventory for return.
• Assist with full quarterly inventory.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
