About The Position

PharMerica is hiring a full-time Pharmacy Order Entry Technician in Reno, Nevada. This role is part of a closed-door pharmacy team serving long-term care and senior living clients in a non-retail environment. The technician enters and verifies medication orders, handles pharmacy claims, supports medication preparation and dispensing under pharmacist supervision, and assists with other pharmacy operations as directed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Pharmacy Technician license as required by the state.
Experience in a pharmacy setting and knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to operate a computer and recognize and identify medications.
Detail-oriented and goal-oriented, with the ability to work as a team player and communicate effectively orally.

Long-term care pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

Enter and verify medication orders in a computerized system accurately and efficiently.
Perform basic drug calculations, including dosage and conversion tasks.
Investigate and resolve pharmacy claim denials and perform follow-up actions in POS systems.
Stay current with Medicaid claim regulations and process claims compliantly.
Track unpaid or delayed claims and generate reports for management.
Provide customer service in accordance with company values and policies.
Assist with medication preparation and dispensing under Pharmacist supervision.
Support additional pharmacy tasks and operations as directed by management.
