The Pharmacy Level 1 Technician practices the profession of pharmacy in an environment whose philosophy and policies promote patient care. The role supports prescription fulfillment and pharmacy operations, including retrieving medications, entering customer and prescription information, preparing labels, processing insurance claims, completing prescription-related paperwork, ordering and stocking medications, and promoting pharmacy initiatives and clinical services. The technician also prioritizes workload, communicates effectively, helps drive change, maintains a clean and orderly pharmacy, and protects the confidentiality of patient information.

Responsibilities

Retrieve appropriate medications from inventory.
Input customer and prescription information into the pharmacy dispensing system.
Create prescription labels and adjudicate insurance claims.
Complete paperwork related to filling prescriptions and receiving drug orders.
Order prescription medication for the Pharmacy Department.
Stock prescription medication.
Promote pharmacy initiatives and clinical services to customers.
