About The Position

Onco360 Pharmacy is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Intern for its onsite Louisville, Kentucky pharmacy. The role is less than 30 hours per week, with flexible hours and days available. Pay is $24.00 to $33.00 per hour, based on completed years of pharmacy school. The Pharmacy Intern supports pharmacists, healthcare providers, and patients with prescription processing, dispensing assistance, medication inventory, order packaging, patient assistance, and refill coordination. Prescription activities must comply with state and federal laws.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in pharmacy studies at an accredited university.
Valid Pharmacy Intern license or permit for the state of Kentucky.
Knowledge of medical terminology, brand and generic medication names, and general pharmacy terminology.

Nice To Haves

Two or more years of experience as a pharmacy technician.

Responsibilities

Greet healthcare providers and patients by phone and answer questions and requests.
Check pharmaceutical stock, determine inventory levels, and anticipate and order medications and supplies.
Maintain a safe and clean pharmacy in compliance with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Perform prescription activities in accordance with state and federal laws.
Prepare medications for pharmacist dispensing by reading medication orders and prescriptions, preparing labels, calculating quantities, adjudicating claims, and resolving rejections, including prior authorization.
Package and organize daily prescription orders.
Assist patients with copayments and financial assistance programs.
Provide counseling regarding the Celgene REMS program.
Assist the pharmacist with dispensing.
Communicate with patients and physician office staff to coordinate medication refill deliveries.
