Pharmacy Intern - Grad

CVS Health•Lexington, KY
•$24 - $42•Onsite

About The Position

CVS Health Graduate Pharmacy Interns apply their pharmacy-school learning in real-world practice and complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader. The program develops knowledge of store, district, and regional operations, patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review, and professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red-flag detection. Interns support pharmacy operations and help ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring patient service and working in accordance with standard operating procedures and best practices. As tenure and readiness increase, interns take on greater accountability for pharmacy management, oversight, and operations. Duties include supporting prescription fulfillment at pharmacy workstations; assisting patients and responding to questions under a licensed pharmacist’s direct supervision; taking or clarifying prescriptions where permitted; coaching and mentoring team members; performing permitted inventory activities; and delivering additional health services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, when allowed by law and supported by required training and certification. Where permissible, interns may complete additional training and licensure requirements to support vaccine preparation and administration, patient education and consent, adverse-reaction response and reporting, and documentation. The role requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and completion of required training within designated timeframes. It is a part-time position. The stated typical pay range is $23.75–$42.00. Benefits may include dental and vision coverage, wellness resources, employee discounts, certain voluntary benefits, and other programs, depending on hours worked and eligibility.
