Pharmacy Intern - Grad

CVS Health•San Antonio, TX

About The Position

CVS Health’s Graduate Pharmacy Intern applies pharmacy-school learning in a retail pharmacy setting while preparing for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, the intern completes a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, building knowledge of store, district, and regional operations. Training and hands-on experience focus on patient safety and error prevention, quality assurance and drug utilization review, and professional standards such as corresponding responsibility and red-flag detection. The intern supports pharmacy operations so prescriptions are fulfilled promptly, safely, and accurately and patients receive caring service. The role follows standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow, communicates effectively with patients and colleagues, and contributes to a safe and inclusive environment. With increasing tenure and readiness, the intern takes on greater accountability for pharmacy management, oversight, and operations. Where permitted by law and supported by required training and certification, the intern may deliver additional patient health services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, and may voluntarily staff offsite clinics. This position requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, and flexibility to work at other stores in the market as business needs require. The posting describes the position as part-time.
