About The Position

CVS Health’s Graduate Pharmacy Intern applies pharmacy-school learning in a retail pharmacy setting while preparing for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, the intern completes a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, building knowledge of store, district, and regional operations, patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review, and pharmacy professional standards. The role supports pharmacy operations and safe, prompt, accurate prescription fulfillment while providing caring service to patients and working in accordance with standard operating procedures, best practices, and applicable laws and policies. As tenure and readiness grow, the intern takes on greater responsibility for pharmacy operations, patient care, team support, and inventory activities. Under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist when appropriate, responsibilities may include assisting with counseling and medical questions, handling prescriptions and prescriber clarifications where permitted, and delivering additional services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing when allowed by law and supported by required training and certification. Where permissible, the intern may pursue Technician Immunizer status and support vaccine preparation and administration. The position requires regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, flexibility to support scheduling and business needs, and the ability to travel voluntarily to other stores in the market when needed. It is described as part-time. The typical pay range is $24.25–$42.00. Benefits and programs may include dental and vision coverage, wellness resources, employee discounts, and access to certain voluntary benefits, subject to hours worked and eligibility.
