About The Position

CVS Health Graduate Pharmacy Interns apply pharmacy-school learning in a retail pharmacy setting and develop the knowledge and skills needed for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader, the intern completes a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation, building understanding of store, district, and regional operations, patient safety, error prevention, quality assurance, drug utilization review, and professional standards. The intern supports pharmacy operations so prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately, and patients receive caring service. The role requires consistent use of standard operating procedures, best practices, effective communication, empathy, and contribution to a safe and inclusive culture. As tenure and readiness increase, the intern takes on greater accountability for supporting pharmacy management, oversight, and operations. Work may include prescription workflow, patient interactions and counseling under licensed-pharmacist supervision, inventory tasks, coaching and mentoring team members, and additional patient-care services where permitted by law and supported by required training. Where allowed, the intern may also complete requirements to support vaccine preparation and administration, educate patients, monitor and report adverse reactions, and document patient information. The role requires regular, predictable attendance, including nights and weekends, flexibility to support scheduling and business needs, and the ability to travel voluntarily to other stores in the market when needed. This is a part-time position. The stated typical pay range is $24.25–$42.00. The position is eligible, depending on hours worked and eligibility, for benefits and programs including dental, vision, wellness resources, employee discounts, and certain voluntary benefits.
