About The Position

The Pharmacy Financial Coordinator is responsible for ensuring accuracy, compliance, and optimization of all pharmacy-related billing and revenue cycle activities. This position oversees pharmacy charge capture, billing workflows, reimbursement validation, financial integrity, and coordination with internal departments such as Revenue Integrity, HIM/Coding, Compliance, Finance, and IT. The coordinator identifies billing discrepancies, resolves denials, maintains pharmacy components of the charge description master (CDM), and supports initiatives to improve financial performance across inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Financial Coordinator will oversee the pharmacy patient assistance and pharmacy patient assistance team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; health-related or business field preferred.
  • Three or more years of hospital, pharmacy, or revenue cycle experience required.
  • Experience with pharmacy billing, charge capture, or reimbursement processes strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospital billing systems, pharmacy workflow, EMR platforms, and third party payer requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact effectively with leadership, clinical staff, pharmacy personnel, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Must be accessible by telephone and provide a valid telephone number.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in billing, coding, or revenue cycle operations preferred (e.g., HFMA CRCR, CPC, CPB).
