About The Position

Under general direction and minimal supervision, this role supports the Community Pharmacy Manager in ensuring that their assigned pharmacy location maintains compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. The position involves dispensing medications and other pharmaceutical supplies using appropriate procedures to fill prescriptions issued by qualified prescribers. Additionally, the role includes consulting with and advising medical and nursing staff, as well as patients, regarding information on medications, including dosing and monitoring drug therapy, drug incompatibilities, warnings, and contraindications.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy with a Bachelor of Science.
  • Pharmacist license and controlled substance license issued by the Michigan Board of Pharmacy.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with standard desktop and windows-based computer system, including email, e-learning, intranet and computer navigation.
  • Ability to use other software required to perform essential functions, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard.
  • Sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively with health-system and pharmacy staff.

  • Doctor of Pharmacy.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives related to pharmacy process improvement.
  • Success in roles leading projects, programs, or teams related to the area to be supervised.
