About The Position

The Pharmacy Delivery Driver delivers customers’ prescriptions safely and on time to specified locations, representing Hy-Vee in customers’ homes and communities with professionalism and a friendly attitude. The role involves driving a delivery vehicle, interacting with customers, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and upkeep, and protecting confidential medical information in accordance with HIPAA. Drivers also work with co-workers to support customer satisfaction, assist in other store areas as needed, and complete assigned special projects. Training is provided.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license with no DOT restrictions.
Must be at least 18 years old to drive a company vehicle.
Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional manner.
Ability to identify problems and independently develop and execute solutions.
Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
Ability to maintain discretion when handling confidential patient information.
Ability to frequently stand and walk while loading, transporting, and delivering pharmacy orders.
Ability to operate a delivery vehicle in accordance with applicable DOT standards.
Ability to perform repetitive standing, walking, reaching, and bending associated with order fulfillment, POS transactions, and cleaning and sanitation duties.

Successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen is required.

Responsibilities

Provide prompt, friendly customer service and make customer interactions positive.
Deliver pharmacy customers’ prescriptions to specified locations in a timely and professional manner.
Enter and exit the delivery vehicle multiple times per shift and navigate staircases and varying terrain to reach delivery destinations.
Maintain the cleanliness of the delivery vehicle inside and out.
Facilitate the maintenance and upkeep of delivery vehicles and promptly report issues.
Maintain the confidentiality of customers’ private medical information in accordance with HIPAA.
Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
Assist in other areas of the store as needed and take on special projects as assigned.
Adhere to personal hygiene and dress standards, Hy-Vee policies, and store guidelines.
Report to work as scheduled and on time.
